(NewsDakota.com) An Oakes woman died following a crash involving two trucks near the intersection of North Dakota Highways 1 and 11 two miles south of Oakes shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Liesa Hill was struck on the passenger side of her truck by a northbound semi-trailer as she tried to turn left into her place of business. She was not wearing a seat belt. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound lane of Highway 1 near the scene was blocked for a few hours as crews removed debris.
The driver of the semi-trailer, 28-year-old Erick Taylor of Britton, South Dakota was not injured in the crash.
