(NewsDakota.com)- It was the final home games before a four-city road trip that Post 14 will embark on over the next 10 days and it ended with a sweep of Mandan. Jamestown took the opener 9-5 and then won the nightcap 2-1.

Mandan used the long ball to score their five runs in the first game. Four of the runs were scored on balls that left the yard. Matt Zieman drove a two-run shot over the right center field fence to cut the lead to 4-2.

Jamestown got three unearned runs in the first inning following a strikeout of Tyler Ukestad that should have ended the inning, but it got away from the catcher.

The Chiefs got within 6-4 after a pair of back-to-back home runs, but Post 14 responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game away.

Ukestad got the win on the mound giving up four earned runs in seven innings.

Jamestown then got their 10th win of the season in the second game when Joey Gebhardt silenced the power hitting Chiefs through seven strong innings on one run ball. Ukestad drove in the games first run giving Post 14 an early lead.

Jamestown heads to Wahpeton, Minot, Williston, and Bismarck before returning home. The next game on the radio will be July 2nd in Bismarck.
