CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said escapee Matthew Kidd Jr. was taken into custody on Friday, June 21. Kidd was spotted at a farmstead shelter belt northeast of Fingal around 4pm.

McClaflin said Kidd Jr. was taken into custody without incident around 7:45pm Friday after he escaped from the Barnes County jail Thursday afternoon in Valley City. Kidd was in jail facing a domestic assault charge. Assisting the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension was the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
