(NewsDakota.com) Wishek Post 87 was able to give the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team their first loss in Section 2 play for the 2013 season with a 6-0 victory at home on Wednesday evening.

Mikey Jacobson pitched solidly for Post 87 (3-2 Section 2), allowing just three hits while striking out 10 batters. Only three runners for LaMoure reached second back the entire game, and not a single player advanced to third. Brady Thielges took the loss for Post 19 (4-1 Section 2), as he allowed eight hits, four walks while striking out four.

Post 87’s Adam Jacobson registered two doubles and two runs scored in the victory. Anthony Olson and Roddy Gentzkow each had doubles for Post 19.

LaMoure’s next Section 2 contest is Monday at Townsend Field as they welcome Oakes Post 36. Coverage will start at 7:15 p.m. on Q101.1 FM, KDDR-AM 1220 and NewsDakota.com with first pitch set for 7:30 p.m.
