CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Berea sunflower plant has a new name, “Northern Plains Grain & Milling.” The revised plant west of Valley City will manufacture raw goods from area commodities for pet food & food grade products.
General Manager Kevin Kvamme says the owners are excited about the new focus for the processing plant.

Valley Development Corporation Economic Development Director Jennifer Feist says plant will employ nearly a dozen people once it’s running to capacity.
The Barnes County Commission approved of using $88,000 through an economic development funding program paid out over a 10-year period for producing more local jobs. The owners hope to have the plant running 24/7 by September.
