Joseph Phillip Sadek, age 56 of Tennessee died there June 11, 2013. Memorial services will be conducted at 7 PM Thursday evening at the Sheyenne Care Center Chapel with Msgr. Dennis Skonseng officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dazey, ND.

     Joseph Sadek was born May 22, 1957 the son of Henry and Helen Sadek. He graduated from North Central of Barnes in 1975 and then attended NDSU. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1984 and served on submarine duty for many years. He was stationed at various duty areas throughout his career, the most recent being Iraq. He married Jodi Reed on July 13, 1991. Joseph started working for the US Postal Service at Nashville, TN in 1996. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 2009. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his children.

     Survivors include his children, Josiah and Bethany, his mother, Helen Sadek, Valley City, ND, siblings, Joan (Gary) Koch, Oriska, ND, John (Tammy) Sadek, Rogers, ND, Paul Sadek, Valley City, ND, Susan (John) Triebold, Oriska, ND, brother-in-law Grover Helvie, Upland, CA and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Sadek, sister, Rosalie Helvie, and nephew, Nicholas Sadek.
