N.D. (NewsDakota.com) North Dakota Tax Commissioner Cory Fong named Steele County Auditor Linda Leadbetter as the new State Supervisor of Assessments in the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner. Leadbetter will replace Marcy Dickerson who will retire on June 30 after having served the Tax Department for 37 years.
Fong said, “Linda brings to the Tax Department a strong background in local finance as well as essential experience working with property owners, and local and state leaders from across North Dakota.”
Leadbetter said, “I am excited for the opportunity to expand my understanding of the property tax system and to provide support to those who work with property tax administration at various levels.”
Leadbetter served as the auditor in Steele County for 18 years. She graduated from Valley City State University with a degree in business and personnel management. Leadbetter has served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the North Dakota County Auditors Association and as Secretary/Treasurer for the East Central County Commissioners Association.
As State Supervisor, Leadbetter will serve as a liaison to property owners, local governments, and state officials on property tax issues. In addition, she will manage and direct the Property Tax Division of the Tax Department and will oversee special projects and initiatives relating to property taxation. Leadbetter will begin her new position on August 1.
