(NewsDakota.com)  The 2013 State Baseball Tourney in Mandan was finalized on Saturday with seven games played, after rain postponed three games on Friday.  The Carrington Cardinals end their season with a Region 3 Championship, 4th place at State and 13-4 overall record.

1st game Saturday: Central Cass 14  Carrington 4

Central Cass scored 12 runs on 12 base hits in the fifth inning to beat Carrington in the semifinal round Saturday morning.  Patrick Freeman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scoring a run.  Taylor Skytland was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Austin Hewitt was 1-for-3 with triple.  Logan Clifton was the losing pitcher for the Cards.

2nd game Saturday: Beulah 3  Carrington 1, third place game

The Miners came into the State ‘B’ Baseball Tournament this year as the defending State Champs.  They beat Grafton last year for the title, but Grafton came back this year and beat them in the semifinals.  Despite a 2-for-3 day from Brady Smith, The Cards lost their fourth game of the year to the Miners.  Beulah finishes in third place and improves to 20-2 overall.  Both teams had four hits, Beulah committed two errors compared to one from Carrington.  Marcus Hewitt was the losing pitcher, he gave up four hits and had five strikeouts.
