N.D. (AP) – The city of Jamestown is considering regulating adult entertainment businesses.
City Attorney Ken Dalsted has prepared a draft ordinance for adult cabarets and escort services based on regulations in several other North Dakota cities. It might include a ban on alcohol in establishments that allow adult entertainment or strippers.
The city’s Finance and Legal Committee recently voted 3-2 to move the ordinance along to the City Council for consideration. If it is approved it could take effect as early as July.
Council member Ramone Gumke says officials aren’t aware of any such businesses planning to locate in Jamestown, but officials who favor an ordinance want to be proactive.
