Roxanne Christine Drake, 36, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away Sunday, May 26 2013 at the Mayo Clinic with her family by her side. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Monday, June 3, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Randy Schlecht officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Sunday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. An online guest register is available at lerudschuldt.com.
She was born Sept 9, 1976 in Lodi, California. Roxanne was the proud mother of her son Andy, the apple of her eye and the light of her life. Roxanne went to college in Grand Forks, ND where she earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science. She moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 2003 where she was a Surgical Technologist in the vascular thoracic surgery department at the Mayo Clinic.
Roxanne enjoyed living life to the fullest. She ran many Marathons and enjoyed the technical aspects of running Marathons, but mostly she just loved to run. Roxanne was a giving and fun loving Mother, daughter, sister, aunt, girl friend, and friend. If you ever had the chance to meet Roxanne even once you would remember many things about her, a smile that would lighten up the darkest day and a laugh that resonated through a crowded room, and a presence that made you realize that you just met someone special. Roxanne was a beautiful and wonderful caring person, she was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.
Roxanne is survived by her son Andy Deutsch, her parents: Robert and Tammy Drake and Patty Willson, brothers: Tony, Max and Sam Drake, sisters: Erin, McKenzie and Maddy Drake, special love: Nate Heining, nephews: Dalton and Payne Drake, niece: Savannah Drake, uncles: Tom Drake and Todd Lund, aunt: Melissa Lund, grandparents: Gay Price, Duane and Audrey Lund, and Marie Drake. She was preceded in death by her grandfather: Francis Drake, grandmother: Rose Drake, aunt: Carol Calhoon, and nephew: Drake Svenningsen.
