(NewsDakota.com)- The Class A State Baseball Tournament will make Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown its home for three days this week beginning on Thursday.
The Jamestown Blue Jays will be making their first state appearance since 2007 when they play in the nightcap Thursday against West Fargo. The Packers enter as the No. 1-seed out of the EDC after they defeated Shanley in the title game.
It will be the fourth state tournament match-up between the Packers and the Jays this season and third first-round meeting. The volleyball team, girls basketball team and girls hockey team all lost to West Fargo at state. The girls hockey loss came in the semi-finals.
Jamestown won their state qualifier over St. Mary’s 4-2 on Saturday. They allowed just four runs in the tournament and suffered their only loss 1-0 to Bismarck in the semi-finals.
