(NewsDakota.com)- Allison Allmer was the two-time defending state champion in the 1600m, but it turned out her best event this year would be one had only run once before. Allmer took second in the 3200m after finishing 7th in the 1600m on Friday.

McKayla Orr was among the busiest runners at the State meet and she placed in four different events. Orr was second in the 300m hurdles, 4th in the 100m hurdles and 7th in the 100m dash. She also teamed with Siri Jystad, Madison Barnes, and Kylee Voight for a 4th place finish in the 4x400m.

Jenna Stilwell took 6th in the triple jump, moved up one spot from her 7th seed.

The Jamestown boys 4x100m relay took 7th after qualifying for the finals 10th, but moving into the round of nine after a team was disqualified.

Taylor Orr took 7th in the 100m hurdles.
