CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Fargo man arrested in Valley City faces a number of assault charges stemming from the stabbing of another man on May 5 in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson said his officers assisted members of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension who made the arrest May 17 near the Pizza Corner Factory were the suspect worked. 26-year-old Zakariya Abdikarim also faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and theft of property.

Abdikarim waived extradition to Minnesota before a Southeast District Judge on Monday.
