(NewsDakota.com)  After two days of postponements due to wet field conditions, the Region 3 Baseball Tourney started today.  The first game of four started at 10am this morning.  Here are the scores.

No. 4 Dakota Prairie 5    No. 5 Lakota 4

No. 3 Midkota 11    No. 6 Central Prairie 1

No. 2 Carrington 9    No. 3 Midkota 4

In the third game of the day and the second game in a row for Midkota, the Cardinals beat the Mustangs to advance to the semi-final round of the Region 3 Tourney.  Patrick Freeman picked up the win for the Cards and was 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI.  Marcus Hewitt was 1-for-2 with two walks and a double.  Alex Nelson was 3-for-4, with five RBI, he had two doubles that cleared the bases in the third and in the sixth.  Taylor Skytland was 1-for-3 with a couple of runs scored and a triple.  Austin Hewitt left the game with a dislocated shoulder.  Carrington improves to 9-1 overall, Midkota drops to 6-4 overall.
