CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City High School fastpitch softball team will be the No. 3 seed for the upcoming EDC Tournament starting Thursday in Fargo.

The Hi-Liners finished the year 13-8 overall and 10-6 in EDC play. The final seeds for the EDC Tournament were determined by a vote of the coaches because three teams were unable to finish their EDC schedule due to this week’s rain.

Valley City will take on No. 6 Grand Forks Red River in the opening round at 7 p.m. Thursday. The EDC Tournament games will be played at the Anderson Softball Complex.

West Fargo (16-0 EDC) is the top seed. Fargo North (12-2 EDC) is seeded No. 2; Valley City (10-6 EDC) is No. 3; and Devils Lake (8-4 EDC) is No. 4.
