CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State men’s basketball team has added a sharp-shooting transfer from Florida for the 2013-14 season.
VCSU head coach Jeff Kaminsky said in a release Friday that the Vikings have signed Jeff Romeus, of Boynton Beach, Fla., to a letter of intent to attend VCSU and play basketball starting this fall.
Romeus, a 6-foot-2 guard, played last season at Rainy River Community College in International Falls, Minn. He averaged 20 points and six rebounds per game, and made 93 3-pointers in 26 games. He had a season-high 47 points in a 108-104 double overtime win.
Romeus played his high school ball at Santaluces Community High School in Lantana, Fla. He averaged 21 points as a senior. Before transferring to Rainy River, Romeus played a year at Allen County Community College in Kansas.
“It is exciting to have Jeff join our program,” VCSU head coach Jeff Kaminsky said in a release. “His versatility will be a great fit in our system. Jeff is an outstanding shooter and has the quickness and athleticism that will make him a difficult match-up for our opponents. Defensively, he uses his quickness and length to anticipate and disrupt opposing offenses. Jeff is a quality person and will have a positive impact in our program on and off the court.”
