CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner boys golf team put together its best score of the season Wednesday, taking eighth place at an EDC meet at Perham Lakeside golf course in Minnesota.

Valley City fired a team total of 359, led by an 83 from Jared Lentz. Dustin Miller posted an 86, and Levi Nix carded a 90, both their best scores of the season. Ian Schweitzer rounded out of the top four with an even 100.

Fargo Shanley won the meet with a total of 317, edging Wahpeton by one stroke.

Grady Meyer of Shanley and Ty Kennedy of Grand Forks Central tied for medalist honors with a 73.

Up next: Valley City plays Monday, May 20 in Wahpeton. The meet is also an individual qualifying round for the state tournament.  Any golfer who scores better than 7 over par, or 7 over medalist, whichever is higher, will qualify individually for state.
