(NewsDakota.com)- Four Jimmie baseball players were named all-conference today. The “conference” consisted of the five teams that competed in the unaffiliated tournament two weeks in Jamestown. All five teams are eventual members of the North Star Athletic Association along with Presentation College, however Dickinson will not fully join until 2014.

Seniors Blake Stewart and Nico Moreno along with underclassmen Nolan Skowronek and Spencer Flaten were selected as members of the team.

Skowronek lead the entire NAIA in batting average at one point in April. He finished with a .370 average.

Stewart’s crowning achievement came during the national tournament when he through nine innings of two-hit ball to shutout the No. 2-ranked Oklahoma City University Stars.

Moreno lead the Jimmies with six home runs on the season while playing third base. Flaten was the Jimmies everyday CF and will be part of a strong nucleus the Jimmies bring back into 2014.
