Joseph Ochsner, 94, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Medina, ND, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Joseph Ochsner was born on September 19, 1918, in Medina, the son of John and Jacobina (Walter) Ochsner. He attended country school in Peterson Township, near Medina and helped on the family farm. Joseph married Lydia Hertley on October 19, 1940 in Jamestown. They made their home on a farm near Medina until September of 1966, when they moved to Medina. He served on the school board and as a township director, clerk, treasurer, and assessor. Joseph was an active member of the Cleveland Seventh Day Adventist Church and served as a clerk, treasurer, elder, and deacon. Lydia died on April 21, 2002.
Joseph is survived by his extended family, James and Debbie Moos and Eleanor Heinz and her children, Nicole and Eric Schapp, and Brian Heinz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters, Emma, Louisa, and Edna; and one brother, Lester Ochsner.
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2103 at the Cleveland Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Darren Purdy officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.
