(NewsDakota.com) The Cards have played four games in five days, with another one scheduled for today in Carrington. They were on a roll winning their first eight games of the season, but that came to an end yesterday as Sheyenne/New Rockford beat them 7-6 in New Rockford. Carrington beat Lakota/Adams Edmore 17-12 on Friday and Midkota 17-16 on Saturday.
The Cards committed five errors and had only three hits as the Blacksox beat the Cards 7-6. Chance Labrie was the winning pitcher in relief of Seth Gilles for the Blacksox, Gilles went five innings and struck out 11. Sheyenne/New Rockford had 11 hits and two errors. Brady Smith took the loss for the Cardinals, going five innings, throwing 76 pitches and struck out four. Austin Hewitt, Brady Smith and Patrick Freeman each had one hit for the Cardinals. The Blacksox improve to 4-4 overall, 4-0 in Region 3, The Cardinals drop to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Region 3. The Cardinals beat the Blacksox in Carrington on May 9th, but it was a non-Region contest.
