(NewsDakota.com) The winds were howling throughtout the day at Northern Cass High School, and they did not blow the way the LaMoure-Litchville/Marion baseball team was hoping for. The Loboes lost both games on Thursday to Northern Cass and Central Cass.
Northern Cass 5 LLM 2
The hometown Jaguars scored the first five runs of the game, and were led by solid pitching from junior Taylor Kyllo; going all seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out nine Loboe batters. Anthony Olson and Brady Thielges were the only runners to score for LLM, and Thielges look the loss; allowing five runs on four hits, and striking out five.
Central Cass 9 LLM 2
The second game saw the Squirrels jump out to an early 2-0 lead after the first inning. The Loboes scored one in the second, but the Squirrels added another two in the second. In the fourth inning, Thielges cleared the bases with a double with two out to tie the game, but the Squirrels added another four in the next two innings to seal the deal.
Kenny Hodem took the loss for the Loboes, while Mitch Scheere earned the win, the second win for him against LLM this season.
In the third game of the triangular, Northern Cass defeated Central Cass 9-7. Northern Cass now stands at 4-2, and Central Cass is 4-1 in Region I play.
The Loboes are now 1-4, and will host one final triangular before the start of the Region I playoffs start on Friday May 17. LLM will host Hankinson-Fairmount and Northern Cass on Monday. Coverage of the Loboe games will be on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com
