ROCKFORD, N.D. (AP) – The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a total of 0,000 to two North Dakota communities as part of a nationwide program to assess, cleanup and redevelop contaminated properties.
The city of New Rockford will receive a $200,000 from EPA brownfields site grant to clean up the New Rockford City Hospital site contaminated with inorganic contaminants.
The city of Minot is receiving $600,000 in assessment grants to focus on the downtown redevelopment area affected by flooding in 2011 and other flooded locations adjacent to the Souris River. The grants are part of $62.5 million awarded nationwide to 240 recipients.
