CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City baseball and softball teams both took losses Tuesday.
The Hi-Liner baseball team had its home opener when West Fargo came to town. The Packers were too tough, racking up 38 total runs as they swept Valley City 14-1 and 24-3.
Valley City (0-6) goes on the road to Devils Lake on Thursday night.
The Hi-Liner softball team was in Devils Lake on Tuesday and took an 8-3 loss. Devils Lake (3-2 EDC) racked up 11 hits, but five of the runs were unearned after Hi-Liner errors.
Valley City had just four hits, getting one each from Jessica Denholm, Dierra Diegel, Brooke Breckheimer and Jasmine Stevens.
Valley City (6-3 EDC) is back at home Thursday when they welcome Grand Forks Central for a 4 p.m. game. Devils Lake will make a return trip to Valley City next week for another EDC game.
