CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner fastpitch softball team ran its winning streak to four games Friday night with a pair of wins at Grand Forks Red River.

Valley City won the region game by a score of 11-3, and then won the non-region game 19-8. Valley City is now 6-2 overall and 6-2 in EDC play.

Danica Diegel and Paula Andel both picked up wins in the circle Friday. Diegel pitched all seven innings in the region game, helping the Hi-Liners pick up two points in the EDC standings. Head coach Jason Lindgren said Dierra Diegel had a triple and a double to help pace the offense, and lead-off Jessica Denholm was consistently on base to jump start the offense.

In game two, Valley City ended it by run rule after five innings. With a 6-2 conference record, Valley City is second in the EDC standings behind 6-0 West Fargo.
