N.D. (AP) -One person is dead after a house fire in Lidgerwood. 50-year-old Jeffory Solomon managed to get out of building shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday but was unable to help his girlfriend, 52-year-old Donelda Kae Hanson, escape.

Hanson’s body was taken to Bismarck for an autopsy.  The state fire marshal’s office says it appears that smoking materials ignited the blaze.
