CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner softball team won a 6-5 thriller Tuesday night against Fargo Shanley, evening their EDC record at 2-2.
The Hi-Liners and Deacons needed extra innings, but Danica Diegel was finally able to deliver the game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth, plating Jasmine Stevens for the winning run said head coach Jason Lindgren.

Shanley finished with five runs on four hits. Valley City collected seven hit in the game to go with their six runs.
Up next: Valley City hosts Fargo South on Thursday and then travels to Grand Forks Central on Friday.
