(NewsDakota.com) – Carrington native Sierra Rosenau is now a school record holder at North Dakota State University.

Rosenau, a freshman track and field athlete at NDSU, set a new school record in the javelin Monday night with a throw of 150 feet, 1 inch (45.75m).  The throw won the event at the Cobber Twilight hosted by Concordia College, and broke an 18-year old record at NDSU.

The previous school record was 147 feet, 6 inches, set by Jennifer Leddon in 1995. Rosenau’s school record throw ranks her 30th in the NCAA’s West Region and among the Top 60 in the nation in javelin, according to a media release from NDSU.

Rosenau won ND high school state titles in javelin in both 2011 and 2012 at Carrington High School, and also holds the school record there.
