(NewsDakota.com)- Carrington’s Hope Carr was one of two Jimmie runners to qualify for the NAIA National Meet in Marion, IN next month.

Carr along with two-time cross country All-American Aleona Reyes ran times fast enough to earn automatic berths in the national meet Saturday at the Al Cassell Relays in Jamestown.

Carr qualified in the 400m hurdles, posting the third fastest time in Jamestown College history, with a time of 1:03.41. Her time also was good for third in the meet, behind two NCAA DII runners.

Reyes picked up a qualifying time in the steeplechase of 11:20.68. Reyes placed 12th in 2011 and 25th in 2012 to earn All-American honors in cross country, just the second Jimmie to do so.
