(NewsDakota.com)- Over 800 wrestlers will descend on the Jamestown Civic Center over the next 48 hours to try to claim a state championship. Tonight marks the start of the Greco-Roman state championships and tomorrow will be the freestyle titles.
Their are levels from youth all the way to junior, which includes some high school athletes. To qualify for the state tournament, wrestlers must have competed in two USA Wrestling North Dakota events.
Friday’s tournaments have 442 competitors and Saturday will have 360.
The action begins Friday at 4pm. Saturday will start with the opening ceremony at 9am. It is $6 for adults and $4 for students to attend the tournament.
