CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Nearly 300 contestants will be competing in “The Wrangler Team Roping Championships Saturday and Sunday inside the North Dakota Winter Show event center in Valley City.

Hundreds of teams will be competing for trophy buckles, jackets, roping gear and other prizes. The roping begins at noon Saturday and 10 am Sunday. Contact the North Dakota Winter Show office for more information at 845-1401.

Meanwhile the Quarter Horse Shows will be held the first weekend in May. The 47th Annual North Dakota Winter Show AQHA Shows are set for Friday, May 3, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. The show will  begin each day at 8 am. Friday’s judge will be Jeff Greaves, from Galva, IL and the judges for Saturday and Sunday will be Mike Hoeppner from Aubrey, TX and Tyler Crouse, from Kansas City, MO.
