Martin, 76, of Milnor, ND, passed away April 22, 2013, at the VA Hospital, Fargo, ND with his loving daughters by his side.

Henry George, son of Jesse and Dora (Durgin) Martin was born September 4, 1936 in Lisbon, North Dakota. He grew up on the family farm near DeLamere, North Dakota and attended DeLamere School. After his schooling, he worked on area farms until 1953, when he enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard. In 1954, he entered the U.S. Air Force as a hydraulic mechanic and retired in 1975, after serving 21 years for his country. He married Carolyn Fowler on November 19, 1955. After Henry’s retirement, they moved back to DeLamere, where the family made their home and opened Martin’s Transmission & Repair Shop. In September of 2009, they moved to Milnor, ND. Hank enjoyed the great outdoors; hunting, gardening, bird watching, and entertaining family and friends with his grilling skills.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn and five daughters; Laura Patno of Plattsburgh, NY, Linda (Mike) Gelinske of DeLamere, ND, Loretta (Dion) Nicolai of Kennewick, WA, Lisa (Michael) Freeman of Watertown, SD, and Lou Ann (John) Larson, Milnor, ND. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse (Terry) Martin of Washougal, WA and Monty (Tana) Martin of Sabin, MN, one sister, Rosemarie (Eugene) Gregor of Milnor, ND, and one sister-in-law, Marlys (James) Martin of Staples, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, James, Donald, and Delbert.

A visitation will be held at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor at 1:30 p.m. A lunch will be served at the Milnor United Methodist Church following the burial.
