(NewsDakota.com)- The Jimmie softball team was able to get some games in over the weekend, but they had to go out of state to do it. They traveled to Great Falls, MT where they played three times against U of Great Falls and twice against Mayville St.
They took the pair from the Comets with relative ease 16-6 and 11-2. There three games against Great Falls were all a little closer. They needed extra innings to win the first game 8-3 scoring five times in the 8th.
The Argos tried to rally back in the second game but came up short. Jimmies starter DJ Johnson did not record a out in the 7th allowing UG to pull within one. Emily Snow came in and mowed down the Argos sealing the win.
In the final game, the Jimmies hit a three-run homer to close a 4-0 gap but that was all they got losing 4-3. JC is now 14-11.
The baseball and golf teams had their weekend’s ruined due to mother nature. The baseball team had four games in Sioux City planned against the University of Winnipeg that were washed out.
The golf team was going to host a tournament in Vermillion, SD today and tomorrow, but they were unable to get that in as well. They will head to Victoria, Texas for the A.I.I. Tournament without having competed in a spring event.
