(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes City Council conducted their regular monthly meeting last week.

The Council learned the leaking roof at the Armory was inspected again, and two holes were found; they have since been sealed, and the roof has not leaked since the repairs have been made. The company that inspected and patched the roof will return in the summertime for further inspections; and the National Guard will be coming to the Armory during the same time period for drill.

A lack of housing has been an issue in the city, and Mayor Monty Zimmer says a committee has been established to look at options for housing, including discussions of building new apartments. More updates and news regarding the committee’s work will be presented to the Council next month.

Appointments were approved for the Airport Authority: Gary Schnell, Arnie Widmer, Jim Plath, Jeff Forward and Charlie Kraemer will make up the Authority.
