CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City Public School board officially approved of the hiring of Martin (Marty) Bratrud  to be the next Activities Director for the next school year starting August 5.

Dan Larson is the Junior High Principal and Activities Director for Valley City. Superintendent Dean Koppelman talked about the decision to split the position.

Koppelman said Bratrude is currently the Superintendent at Flasher Public School. He said Bratrude was an athletic coordinator for a school in a Houston suburb a few years ago.

Koppelman said Bratrude will be paid an annually salary of $76,000.  Larson will continue to be the principal for Grades 7,8 & 9 starting in the next school year in Valley City.
