FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The National Weather Service says there’s a 50 percent chance that the Sheyenne River in Valley City will reach about 12.4 feet this spring depending on the rate of melt and precipitation.

Bald Hill Dam Resource manager Rich Schueneman also said the drawdown on Lake Ashtabula is complete at a level of 1257 feet. Summer pool level is at 1266 feet.

The National Weather Service says below normal temperatures appear to reducing the snow melt at slower rate which is good news for residents who live along river systems in the state.
