Randy R. Nielsen was born July 15, 1953 in Valley City, ND, the son of Wayne and Myla (Eggert) Nielsen. He was a 1971 graduate of Valley City High School. Through correspondence, he became certified in accounting and was a bookkeeper for several local businesses.

     Rand took very special care of all of his friends and family. He especially loved his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. They all loved to spend time with Uncle Rand.

     He was a fan of all sports. He loved to fish and listen to everyone’s fish stories. He was an avid NY Yankee fan.

     Rand passed away surrounded by his family and friends on April 2, 2013 at his home, where he was lovingly cared for by his sister, Deb and brother, Bruce for many years. He is survived by his mother, Myla Nielsen; a sister, Deb Feuerherm; three brothers, Rick, Bruce (Cheri), and Mark (Stacey) Nielsen all of Valley City.

     He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; brother-in-law, Mike Feuerherm; and a nephew, Josh Nielsen.

     A memorial service and time of sharing will begin at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City at a later date.

     Family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given.
