CITY (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota’s fastpitch softball coaches project Enderlin/Maple Valley to repeat as state champions and peg Valley City to finish fifth in the EDC, according to the preseason polls.
The Class A coaches have defending state champion West Fargo as the top team in the state, following by Bishop Ryan, Bismarck Century, Fargo North and Dickinson in the Top 5.
In the EDC, West Fargo is following by Fargo North, Red River, Devils Lake and Valley City.
In the WDA, Bishop Ryan is pegged as the top team with Jamestown coming in at No. 6.
In Class B poll, defending state champion Enderlin/Maple Valley is picked as both the top team in the South Region and the state. Central Cass is right behind as No. 2 in the region and state. The Top 5 in Class B is rounded out by Hankinson, Thompson and Grafton.
Games were supposed to begin this week across the state, but colder than normal temperatures this spring have forced numerous postponements in the first week.
