Katherina Rienstra was born September 21, 1928 in Westfield, ND.  She was the daughter of Jacob and Colbie (Wolvendyke) Rienstra.  Katherina worked at the Valley City hospital in her younger years.  She married Eldred Busche January 28, 1948.  They farmed southeast of Marion.  Katherina loved to garden and bake.  As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Griswold Township, she was active as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of Mary Circle, where she enjoyed quilting.  She also enjoyed singing at church functions and family gatherings. Katherina managed the Marion Café for 12 years.  Katherina and Eldred moved to Marion in 1990 and in 1992 retired to Valley City, then moved to Sunnyside Care Center by Lake Park, MN.  There they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.  In 2010, Katherina moved to Good Samaritan Society in Oakes, ND.  She died there, March 29, 2013 at the age of 84.

     Katherina is preceded in death by her husband, infant son, parents, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.

     Katherina has 5 children, Eldean Busche, Bismarck, Greg (Dawn) Busche, Sheridan, WY, Gary Busche, Fargo, Susan (Kevin) Hoefs, Bismarck, and Kevin (Beth) Busche, West Fargo; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  

     The funeral will be at Trinity Lutheran Church (Griswold), rural Litchville, ND on Saturday, April 6th, at 10:00am.  Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

     Visitation is scheduled from 4:00pm – 7:00pm on Friday, April 5th, at Oliver Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
