Brad Spenningsby, age 58, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, March 26th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 2nd at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1st from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and one hour before the funeral service Tuesday morning. A rosary service followed by a wake service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the church. Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
Bradley Paul Spenningsby, the son of Donald and Anne (Hart) Spenningsby, was born January 12, 1955 in Valley City, ND. Bradley grew up in Valley City and attended St. Catherine’s Catholic School and graduated from Valley City High School in 1973. After his graduation, he attended Valley City State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. After his graduation from college, Brad taught music in Aneta, ND. On June 23, 1979, he married Karen Kreidlkamp at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Brad later began working at Valley Sales in Jamestown serving Valley City and other communities. Brad was a member of the Valley City Elks Club and the Valley City Country Club where he served on various positions on the board. Brad enjoyed golfing, bowling, music, softball and bird hunting.
Brad is survived by his wife Karen and daughter Nicole, both Valley City, ND; three brothers, Dr. James (Mary) Spenningsby, Detroit Lakes, MN, Greg (Paula) Spenningsby, Jamestown, ND and Steve Spenningsby, Alexandria, MN; two aunts, Marguerite Stephans, Hazel Park, MI and Betty Grant, Harrisburg, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents.
