N.D. (AP) – Gov. Jack Dalrymple says residents in the Fargo area won’t have to worry about getting enough money from the state to help with an expected spring flood.
Dalrymple on Monday met with federal, state and local officials to outline plans to tackle high water from the Red River and its tributaries and says the state’s largest city has “the best flood-fighting team in the United States.”
The National Weather Service says the river has a 50-50 chance of reaching above flood stage, which would be the fourth major flood in five years for Fargo-Moorhead residents.
Officials plan to open an emergency operations center on April 2 with volunteers beginning to fill sandbags on April 3.
