N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Capitol is expected to be abuzz all this week with anticipation over what Governor Jack Dalrymple will do with a package of anti-abortion measures approved by both chambers of the North Dakota Legislature last week.

House members voted on four abortion measures Friday, rejecting one that would define in state law that life begins at conception. Representatives approved a resolution that would let voters put the definition into the state constitution.

Other passed bills would ban abortions after 20 weeks based on the disputed premise that fetuses feel pain at that point; require abortion doctors to be physicians with hospital-admitting privileges; ban abortions as early as six weeks, or when a fetal heartbeat is detected, and ban abortions because of genetic defects.
