Larry Vernon Hook, 67, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND.

     Larry was born on January 15, 1946, in Hannaford, ND, the son of William and Irene Ruby (Nelson) Hook. The family moved to Colfax, ND where Larry spent his childhood and attended school. He was trained as a mechanic in the Wahpeton/Breckenridge area, and then enlisted in the US Navy on November 20, 1964. He was an airplane mechanic during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged on November 19, 1968. Larry returned to North Dakota and married Ruth Masters. He worked as a mechanic, raised rabbits, and was a life-long tinkerer. Larry loved his pets, dogs, family and was very proud of his children.

     Larry is survived by his wife, Ruth Hook, Fargo, ND; children, Robbie Hook, Fargo, Patrick (Michelle) Taylor, Dilworth, MN, Larry (Karen) Hook, Jr., Milwaukee, WI, Danny Hook, Fargo, and Lisa (Mike) Nelson, Casselton, ND; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean (Tony) Timmermann, St. Cloud, MN; and aunt, Bette (Fritz) Dichraff, Fargo.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Patrick Vernon Hook and Terrence Lee Hook; and a grandson, James Lee Hook.

     Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN.

     Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

     Interment: 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
