LAKE (NewsDakota.com)  The Carrington Cardinals girls basketball team played North Star for third place last night in the Region Four Tourney, the Bearcats beat the Cardinals 58-57.  Both teams end their season, the Cards end with a 16-8 overall record, the Bearcats end at 17-7.

Leading the way for Carrington was Jr. Kayla Hochhalter with 12, Jr. Jacey Engelhorn had 11 and Sr. Breana Barton had 10.  The Cards shot 24/53 for 45% from the field and they were out-rebounded 24-22.  At halftime, North Star led by one, 29-28. 

Leading all scorers was Sr. Kelsey Teubner of North Star with 21.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:  BENSON COUNTY 47  LAKOTA/ADAMS-EDMORE 43

Benson County will represent Region Four at the State Class B Girls basketball Tournament next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 21-23 at the FargoDome.  The No. 6 Wildcats will play No. 1 and undeated Bishop Ryan in the last game next Thursday.  Bishop Ryan defeated Velva last night in Region Six Championship game 63-49 at the Minot Auditorium.
