and BUCHANAN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two crashes in Stutsman County on Tuesday yielded a combined two injuries and ,000 in damage.

The first accident took place around 8:40 a.m. on the Highway 52 bypass at an intersection one-half mile north of Jamestown involving a Freightliner and a Pontiac Grand Am. Mirjana Rorbek, 64, of Maple Ridge, BC was driving the Freightliner pulling an enclosed semi trailer, failed to yield at the stop intersection and pulled out in front of Anne Keffeler, 34, of Buchanan, N.D., and her Grand Am.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports sunrise was a factor in Rorbek’s vision. No one was injured, but the accident yielded $3,500 in damage to the trailer’s side and $6,500 in damage to the Grand Am.

The second accident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 52 at Buchanan. Brittany Nelson, 24, of Camden, S.C., was driving southbound next to Amelia Vanniekerk, 27, of Jamestown when Nelson switched lanes and struck Vanniekerk’s Kenworth which was pulling an enclosed semi trailer.

Nelson and 4-year-old Emma Nelson were treated at Jamestown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Nelson’s Toyota Corolla suffered approximately $9,500 in damage and Vanniekerk’s Kenworth sustained $5,000 in damage.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
