N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City, Lisbon and Fort Ransom are continuing to push for money for flood protection.

The state Water Commission budget has 21-million dollars in it for phase two of flood control on the Sheyenne river.

Valley City commissioner Mary Lee Nielson told the Senate Appropriations Committee a number of the properties along the river have already been bought out.

Nielson says that permanent flood protection includes levees, flood walls and storm sewer improvements.
