(NewsDakota.com)- The 2013 Region III Girls basketball tournament begins tonight in Hazelton. The 3rd ranked Napoleon Imperials enter as the odds on favorite to win, with Ellendale the top-seed out of District 5.

The Imperials will batter Edgley-Kulm-Montpelier in the opening game slated for a 3pm start. Following that LaMoure-Litchville-Marion takes on Kidder County.

The third game of the day will be between Ellendale and Central Prairie. The nightcap will feature Linton-HMB and Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal.

The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday with the winner crowned on Thursday. The champion moves on to the state tournament March 21-23 at the Fargodome.
