Darlene Denning, 79, of Edgeley, ND, died March 8, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.
Darlene was born on May 6, 1933, in Wishek, ND, the daughter of John and Florence (Ulmer) Wetzel. She was baptized on August 1, 1936 and confirmed in Kulm, ND on May 7, 1950. Darlene attended country school near Fredonia, ND and worked on her parents’ farm. She lived with her aunt Esther in Salem, OR for three years. She returned to North Dakota via train and met Arlon Denning on that voyage June 3, 1956. Darlene married Arlon Denning on April 23, 1957 at the Lutheran Church in Lehr, ND. They lived on a farm near Jamestown, ND from 1957 to 1959. Then they resided on various Edgeley area farms until moving into Edgeley in 1974. Darlene moved to Manor St. Joseph in October 2006.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Dorinda K. (Mike) McClellan, Grand Terrace, CA; son Kenneth Denning, Jamestown; two grandchildren, Brandi and Nicole; two step grandchildren, Jordyn and Riley Bilger; one great grandchild, Ashley Denton; and siblings, Barlow, Gertie, Gordon, Clayton, Jerry, Howard, Harvey, Jan, and Wilma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arlys Denning and one infant sister.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Edgeley with Pastor Jordan Gackle officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Interment: Wishek City Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
