(NewsDakota.com)  Both the boys and girls for Jamestown were in action at the Bismarck Civic Center yesterday for the opening round of the 2013 West Region Tourney.  The No. 8 seeded Blue Jay boys played the No. 1 seed Bismarck St. Marys in the first game of the afternoon on the main civic center floor.  The Saints beat the Jays 56-37, the Jays drop to 3-18 overall and 1-16 in the WDA.  The Saints improve to 17-2 overall and 15-2 in the WDA.  Leading the way for the Jays was Jr. Landon Weiser with 11 points followed by Sr. Austin Remmick with nine.  Freshman Logan Anderson had eight rebounds and four points.  Jamestown shot 12/44 for 27% from the field.  Leading the way for the Saints was Jr. Darius Sparks with 22 including five 3-pointers.

The No. 2 Blue Jay girls played the No. 7 seed Bismarck St. Mary’s in the third game yesterday at the Exhibit Hall of the Bismarck Civic Center.  The Jays beat the Saints 74-66, the Jays improve to 16-4 overall and 14-3 in the WDA, the Saints drop to 5-14 overall and 5-12 in the WDA.  The Jays had three players in double figures, Sr Kyra Dewald had 23 points including three 3-pointers, followed by a double double by Jr. Paige Peterson with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Jr. McKayla Orr with 19.  Jamestown shot 25/56 from the field for 44%.  Leading the way for the Saints was Sr. Sydney Miller with 15.
