N.D. (AP) – North Dakota lawmakers return to the Capitol today to kick off the second half of the 2013 Legislature.

Members of the House and Senate finished voting on bills in their respective chambers last week and took a five-day break for an intermission period called Crossover.

In the Legislature’s second half, the Senate holds hearings and votes on bills that were first introduced in the House, and the House does the same for Senate measures.

At the halfway point, 341 of the 511 House bills that passed and now go the Senate. In the Senate, 405 bills were introduced and 293 passed and will move on to the House.
